New Zealand was my fourth lifetime trackchasing country. The country is an island nation in the southwestern Pacific Ocean comprising two main land masses, the North Island and the South Island and numerous smaller islands. New Zealand is notable for its geographical isolation situated about 1,250 miles southeast of Australia across the Tasman Sea. Its closest neighbors to the north are New Caledonia, Fiji and Tonga. Carol and I have never toured a country more beautiful than New Zealand. The people were great and we especially enjoyed meeting and following the racing of New Zealand's world champion saloon driver, Steve Williams.
