Carol
happily prepares our "need 2" ticket sign. This sign is vital to
our success when trying to acquire tickets at a major sporting event.
We were both impressed with the downtown area of Indianapolis. It was very clean with several interesting buildings.
To say the Indy fans get into their football would be an understatement.
The
Indianapolis Colts play their home games inside the RCA Dome. I
attended the NCAA championship basketball game here in April when the
UCLA Bruins matched up with the University of Florida.
We were in for an afternoon of seeing "Blue."
We entered the arena just as the players were being introduced to the crowd.
We had good seats just 19 rows from the field. This was our view.
It was a comfortable 72 degrees inside the RCA Dome. The place seats 57,000 people.
The Colts are in blue. They are one of only two teams in the NFL that is still undefeated.
I estimate that more than 98% of the crowd was wearing some form of Colts blue.
The beer man in our aisle is famous. He also made a large number of sales in our section.
We also had a good view of the cheerleaders! Carol didn't like their outfits.
The TV cameraman had the very best view in the house.
I
have watched a lot of NFL football in my lifetime. I don't ever
remember a team having to kickoff from the five yard line, like the
Redskins did today.
These were mostly beer drinkers from our section waiting to remove their "rented" beer.
Following the game that the Colts won 36-22, the players gathered for a post game prayer.
As
the crowd filed out after the game, Carol and I relaxed in our seats
for a few minutes. We had had an outstanding sports weekend.
