RIALTO AIRPORT SPEEDWAY, RIALTO, CALIFORNIA

It's common to think of the greater Southern California area as being heavily populated. This is some of the unpopulated area between my home in San Clemente and tonight's track in Rialto.

This is a SoCal toll road. There are a few houses on that hillside aren't there?

The Rialto Airport Speedway was my 1,057th career track and Carol's 251st.

I guess the track has not always been named the Rialto Airport Speedway.

The racetrack is located at the City of Rialto Airport.

A tax writeoff?

If was 95 degrees at 7 p.m. We decided to take in the action in the comfort of the Carol Lewis owned and Life of Virginia sponsored Lexus LS 430.

The Speedway Midgets race at Wheel 2 Wheel Speedway and today's track in Rialto. They brought 10 cars to the dirt track at Wheel 2 Wheel but had just three cars today.

Three Speedway Midgets were scheduled to start this heat race. One dropped out on the pace lap.

These are boxy looking racecars.

The track has lights. Plastic cones mark the inside and hay bales and truck tires mark the outside of the track.

This go-kart class had the most competitors of any at today's race meet.

This was the most entertaining racing of the event.
