Randy Lewis

World's #1 Ranked Trackchaser

Reno, Nevada trackchasing trip, April 15-17, 2005

The trackchasing scenery out west is much different from most other parts of the United States.

Not everyone who lives here will be going trackchasing today.

These are almonds in mid-growth.

If you drive along Interstate 5 between Los Angeles and San Francisco, make it a point to stop at the Harris Ranch.  They are all about beef.

Everything at the Harris Ranch is about cows, even their rawhide sofas.

This is where Harris Ranch steaks come from.

This is the CORA Speedway's second year of operation.

This brings new meaning to the term, "Young driver".

We came to the CORA Speedway in the car on the right!

This is a "Junior Outlaw", a non-countable class based upon the age limit of drivers allowed to compete.

Man or woman, you be the judge!

This racecar was in the "Outlaw 500" class, the first countable class to race today.

There were several mini-sprints racing today.

The facility was a total dump except for this beautiful stream that runs along side the track.  I have read that CORA does not run during some months in the summer because of the bug problem!

The frontstretch at CORA Speedway.

Carol is very trusting of the mini-sprint drivers!

This must be the Richard Petty grandstand.

The sign says it all.

The RANLAY visits the Reno-Fernley Raceway road course.

They had some classic cars racing today.

This car was brought to the track with a tow bar.  Years ago almost all stock cars were towed to the track in this manner.  This car did not race.

Ya, this is a cool car.

This Jaguar was Carol's favorite.

There were also some open wheelers in competition.

Better luck next time.  Temps were in the 70s with a backdrop of snow covered mountains.

I'd pay $20,000 for this car.  Would you?

The point on the track is the furthest of any from the spectator area.

You are not likely to see this view in Iowa.

There is very little traffic in this part of the world.

It doesn't get much prettier than this.

Unless it's this view near Lee Vining, California.
